Why Blue Sink?
The name Blue Sink Monthly refers to the earliest known name of Orange Lake in New Port Richey. In starting this site and exploring our area, we learned Orange Lake had previous been called both Mirror Lake (c. 1920) and Blue Sink (c. 1891).
While the name no longer is referenced in downtown New Port Richey, the sense of beauty and mystery the name represents is exactly what this online magazine hopes to achieve: creating a sense of appreciation and discovery for the place we call home.
